Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask Review

Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask is not worth the hype it is getting.

My Experience

My personal experience with this mask has been that is dries out my skin to an uncomfortable point. Also, it leaves a clay-like residue on my skin even after I have rinsed off the mask and dried my face.

While I did experience a fresh minty feeling, the next day I noticed a few new breakouts all over my face, even places I normally don’t break out in like my cheeks. Unfortunately this mask is not for me. In order to give you a better description of my skin type and what this product claims to do keep reading.

This mask claims it will

  • Dry up acne pimples & shrinks pores
  • Rinses away blackheads
  • Leave skin feeling clean, refreshed & smooth

List of Ingredients:

Water , Kaolin , Bentonite , Glycerin , Chromium Oxide GreensCI 77288 , Fragrance , Phenoxyethanol , Methylparaben.

Bentonite is becoming a very popular ingredient in products lately, using bentonite clay has proven to whiten teeth and clear up skin. If you would like me to do a review on bentonite clay products let me know in the comments below.

Unfortunately this mask DOES contain parabens, specifically methylparaben. While it is completely biodegradable, there is controversy regarding whether this  is actually safe.

Kaolin is commonly used in the production of paper, cosmetics, toothpastes, and facial masks, etc.

My skin type

My skin type is combination-normal. This means my T-zone is typically oily and my cheeks are dry. Normally I stay away from oils and lean more towards masks.

Prices vary significantly between different retailers. For example, Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask retails for about $4.96 at Walmart and includes free shipping, $2.01 at Pharmapacks.com, and $3.99 at Sally Beauty.

Hope this article was helpful in providing information about my experience using Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask.

Again this is my own personal experience and perceptions vary between individuals with different skin types and conditions. If you would like to share your experience using this mask feel free to mention it in the comments below!
