Eat Clean In 2016
The new year fitness frenzy is slowing burning out as February approaches. You don’t have to totally divorce your weightless plan when you miss your gym days, here are some easy ways to keep a healthy diet.
Start your morning with lemon water. Simply cut a wedge of lemon to your liking and squeeze all the juice into your water. You can discard the rest of the lemon but I like to put it in my water, it adds zest. You can remix this drink in so many ways just by adding mint leaves (keeps your water and breath fresh), watermelon, and other fruits. The possibilities are endless.
Two of favorite things about this technique is that you can achieve a beautifully shaped egg to use in your breakfast sandwich or salad and you are free to customize the flavors however you want. Trying cutting a piece a plastic wrap about the size of a sheet of paper and line the inside of small cup with it. Then, lightly spread it with oil (pumpkin seed, olive, safflower, etc). Next, crack your egg into it. Now the fun part, add what seasonings or leaves you want to it. Personally, I like to add cilantro, basil, pink salt, and a little bit of black pepper. Finally tie up the plastic wrap with your seasoned egg inside and make a knot. Now all you have to do is gently place it into simmering water for a few minutes, remove the plastic wrap and you have a perfectly poached egg.
If you don’t have time in the morning to pull out all of your fruits and veggies to make a smoothie I recommend pre-packing your smoothie ingredients in a ziplock bag. In the mornings or whenever you want to make a smoothie all you have to do is transfer your fruits and veggies from your baggie to your blender and add your choice of liquid.
