Winter is hurrily approaching, brace yourselves northerners. Here are five things you can do in november to perserve yourself in the coldest months of the year.
Cook Your Own Food
Yes, you read that right. I cannot tell you how many times I went to a restaurant and came down with a horrible cold the next day. When people who work very closely we your food are also quite sick, well germs have arms and legs and can jump around.
This is not an excuse to stay indoors; pack your own lunch and head over to your local library, mall, movie theatre, or Barnes and Nobles.
Lotion up like its your full time job. I suggest once in the morning and once at night before you go to bed, also right after you shower no matter what time it may be. Many lotions contain a lot of water and alcohol which dries out skin.
Instead, try using a small amount of coconut oil, trust me it will do wonders to your skin. I notice when my skin is dry and itchy it puts me in an irritated mood, moisturzing has been a life saver for me in the colder months.
Do not let the weather keep you from staying in shape and healthy. Some activities you can try when it gets colder out include: ice skating, skiingg, snowboarding, sledding, even yoga in the morning really helps.
Drink a Power Smoothie Every Day
Drinking a power smoothie every day during any season is beneficial, but especially in the colder months to prevent from the flu and/or other sicknesses. In order to boost up the immune support in your smoothie try adding citrus fruits like oranges and lemons with dark leafy greens like kale or spinach.
